This Old Man - Chords, Lyrics and Origins
Origins
The first record of 'This Old Man' is from the British Isles in the early years of the twentieth century. It was later popularised by Pete Seeger, and used in film and TV programmes, including the seventies detective saga, 'Columbo'. There is an interesting, although not terribly conclusive thread about its origins at Mudcat. This Old Man has also been scored by the composer, Sir Malcolm Arnold.
